Now, I'm probably very wrong, but I'm at work so I'll give it a try; Isn't Disjecta a female? I _seem_ to remember that all the songs were credited as being wrinten by someone with a female-like name. Sorry it's so bloody vague.. Question: I found a record back home in Wpg that had no track listing, but a handwritten sticker said that it had Aphex Twin and Autechre on it and that the proceeds were going to some cause... does this ring a bell for anyone? It's probably not there anymore, but I'm gonna check next time I go back. _________ (___,-, \ "Why don't you admit it, / ,\ \ AFX you don't have the balls /,_) \ \ Aphex Twin to be a queer...." nope, it's Mark Clifford from Seefeel if I remember correctly.

It's called "Muruora" (sp?) and was released be rephlex not too long ago. Apparantly has tracks by Phex, Ae, Drexciya, and Cylob. Damn good E.P, along the lines of the harder rephlex stuff (Phex and Cylob tracks are downright noticable; refer to "Industrial Folk Songs" for a more accurate description). It's ace in my book. _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- J A M E S B E N J A M I N G I L L U N F O R T U N A T E L Y L I V I N G I N A R I Z O N A J G I L L @ U . Actually, especially with the actually dance-worthy cuts (that "D" is there for a reason, no?), more women seem to enjoy this music than men... Recent club observations seem to support this not particularly carefully formulated thesis. The other night at the Palmer, men for the most part hung foolishly around like wall-vegetation a la Babylon while the women/girls went delerious over 3 (after)hours of continuous 120 bpm trance. One disgruntled male was vibed enough to ask me audaciously if I was starting a clique. I was, but I wasn't about to admit it. I invited him to join in, but he decided that he felt safer back near the wall. The Ratio Remains the Same. So there you have it. HOWEVER - the CollectionObsession seems to be a particularly male neurosis, though one may find exceptions. It's that primal instinctive male rape-the-countryside imperialistic conquest size-obsessed phallic Oedipal-rage-induced performance-anxiety safety-in-numbers paroxysm obsessive-compulsive acquisitive backtothechillwomb urge. This largely incurable disorder may succinctly be characterized by the following example drawn from actual patient records in our archives: "I have the ultra-rare deleted William Orbit remix Kraftwerk bootleg B-side picture-disc 12" CD and you don't!! Now suffer!" Zenon M. Feszczak Psychoacoustician P.S. By the way, add Rockers Hi-Fi AND Unitone Hi-Fi to the mega-list of Artists Who Have Sampled the Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" Beat. It really is a beautiful beat, though. Really.

Might you really be talking about that phenomenal beat from "When The Levee Breaks" by Zep. Sampled and broken apart even by myself for some heavy duty drum sounds. If not, forgive my ignorance. Ross Volition Inc

Oh, Lord, yes, that's the one! What was I thinking? That must be the most sampled beat in his/her/our/theirstory. A bass drum a mile (1.3km or so) wide. 3

This is very astute. Women trainspotters are unusual, although I confess to being one myself. They ar also less likely to be spending lots of free time at their terminal than blokes hence fewer mailings from them... Suzy On Thu, 25 Jul 1996, Zenon M. Feszczak wrote:

Screw trainspotting... I'll take being surrounded by women on the dance floor while dancing over that anyday =|-) Now, if I could only find such a place around here... On: Radiating my speakers with Brother Grimm. Any of you lovely ladies out there care to join me on da floor ?
