Well, surprisingly little has been said on IDM about the new Everything But the Girl album, _Walking Wounded_, which did receive a cursory nod on the 313 list, of all places, a week or so ago. So I'm going to say surprisingly little about it as well. :-) In a nutshell, Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn take the lyrical ramblings of Underworld and straighten them out into unabashedly beautiful pop songs, and the beautifully frantic beats of _Jacob's Optical Stairway_ and smoothe them out. In short, "jungle" for the masses, IDM for the "lite" crowd, and haunting vocals for those of us more apt to be nodding a head to "Rsdio" or skanking to "Children Talking". Definitely a Top 10 choice, and something that Kent Williams' family may even like if he plays it quietly enough. :-) Dave Manning "Surrender Dorothy" dmanning@cwis.unomaha.edu............dave.manning@entex.com

Heh. Melissa's review of Analogue Bubblebath III "What's that noise coming from the basement?" Melissa's review of Tango N Vectif "Is there something wrong with the stereo?" Sean's review of Computerworld "It's better than most of that techno stuff" Lucas's review of B12 "Soundtrack of Space" *goofy space dancing* --------------------------------------------------------------------- "I read Keyboard, but it's like staring at a book with pictures of simple looking but expensive machines." -- Michael Lazarev NEW CD Comp Electronic Music Project http://soli.inav.net/~kent/emp.html Kent Williams kent@inav.net CADSI 2651 Crosspark Road Coralville IA 52241 (319) 338 6053 (home) (319) 626 6700 x 219 (work) (319) 626 3489 (fax)

Believe it or not the two of them were featured on (US)MTV News. They talked a bit about remixing, and Massive Attack was shown for a few seconds. I don't remember what was said, sorry. Misery is not my friend, * Naylor * but I'll break before I bend --Red Hot Chilli Peppers
