Hope you're not trying to say MBM is.. With Helter Skelter MBM made jungle five years ago. MBM cannot be compared with any band anyway. gonzales - delsin http://wwwedu.cs.utwente.nl/~wielen

We're stretching the definition of jungle here. Unless there's some 110 bpm jungle out there.

This reminds me - I've heard Photek's 'Into the 90s', and it sounds much more like trip-hop to me than slow jungle. The beats aren't turned around or mashed up but rather are just the same loop over and over. Are there any artists doing jungle around 100-120 bpm? At 120 the beats are somewhat slower, but can be frantic given the right sounds... GD

Photek's new 12" Hidden Camera contains the title track, which i've been told is 95 bpm. So check out some of that slow jungle vibe. :) Regards, John /-------------------------------------------------------------------\ | JOHN BUS (aka. Take a close look at the label and you'll see that it plays at 45rpm rather than 33 1/3! Try it at the right speed and it clocks in at about 126 BPM (still pretty slow) rather than a little under 95 BPM on 33. :-) Still, who cares, it sounds good at either speed! Rae & Christian's "In Rhodes" off the the fat city comp is a good example of the slower jungle style. I haven't really heard anything else that's in the same vein, but this track is well worth tracking down.

As soon as people play with the tempos, it will stop being called Jungle or Drum and Bass, and will simply become Breakbeat. Which is good, isn't it?
