Acid house is the bomb! But I have none of it except for the odd Aphex and Freaky Chakra song, and a couple Astral Matrix 12's... Thus... Could anyone on this list recommend to me their personal favorite acid house disc? Preferably something dark, heavy, industrial, electro-y maybe? What artists make this kind of music "intelligently" anyway? Anything on cd?

For original eighties chicago acid check out one of the retro acid comps that have been coming out recently (anything with trax by Phuture, Armando, Hot hands Hula or Jack Frost is a good pointer) . this stuff is really sparse and raw. For a more trancey take check out Hardfloor's early stuff on Harthouse (before they got formulaic adn started remixing averyone and his brother). For some killer hard stuff check out the various Universal indicators on Rephlex, and anything by Kosmik Kommando. (though some of his stuff is really mellow too) Also wicked are the Acid Rain EPs on UR, though these may be hard to find now. I found a compilation double lp a couple a months back, called 'We call it hallucinates' from 1988, and it was full of stuff taken of the early Trax records. (they've even numbered it Traxlp001:) Featuring stuff like Phuture's 'Acid Trax' and lotsa other goodies, i doubt you can find house more acid than this. I don't know how rare it is, but ive found it again in one second-hand-store, after i bought it, so you can be lucky. :) heikki --------------------------------------------------------------- Heikki Henriksen heikkih@orland.winix.no Rabben 3 heikki@ifi.unit.no 6490 EIDE * DON'T PANIC * henrix@nvg.unit.no NORWAY http://www.nvg.unit.no/~henrix ---------------------------------------------------------------

The best one I know is ACID BURND EUROPE on Force Inc. UK. feat. Mike Inc, J. Burger, Bioship C., Ian Pooly, Alec Empire, Affie Yusuf and others. Wild, hard acid. I have it as do-EP... don't know if it's released on CD. take care, Harald "Accieeeed!" :-)) +----------------------------------------------------------+ | visions and sounds from the wicked world of techno-house | | WWW -> http://rave.city.de/wicked | | a servive of http://www.music.city.de and Touch-Net | +----------------------------------------------------------+

for all i know, it isn't. my suggestion, as an old biohead of course, is biochip c.'s "tb uproar" cd, anodyne 1. greets, p. on last: glenn underground - atmosfear on next: chicks with dicks - musik ohne eier

Check out Box Energy, Stomach Acid, or City Hall. Pierre is definitely the catalyst for the music of Aphex Twin. Cheers, SjaY. *Fido* 2:250/151 *E-Mail* Geotrax@jukjoint.warp.co.uk ...
