I'm going to see Conemelt live this Wednesday (only because Alex Knight of Fat Cat Records is DJ'ing - Weatherall too) as part of Weatheralls Emmissions tour thats going round the UK, but thats kind of off the point. However, the Conemelt sound is pretty hard Euro-style techno with a hint of acid. A friend had an old Conemelt 12" on Sabres and it was just banging stuff without the Detroit funk - okay but nowt amazing. I think they called their LP _You Fuckers Fuck!_ which I guess is taken from Hopper in _Blue Velvet_. The only comparison to Orbital IMO is that they both have that 'clean' UK/Euro sound - this is a funk free zone. Otherwise Conemelt are pretty hard. OnNow: my hangover. || [CiM] || s.walley@uea.ac.uk || http://www.sys.uea.ac.uk/~u9323899/
