Has anyone listened to Dave Angels new album `Tales of the Unexpected`. Is it any good ? Also, I know this might be more appropriate for the 313 list, but is the Drexciya release on Rephlex any different to the original ? Thanks in advance, Rob

I've got it, only about half way thru it, its got a lush warm sound. A jazzy techno sound, but I wouldn't call it trip hop. I think its good. However, my preference is for cheesy dancey stuff, this is more idm'ish. I saw that MixMag gave it a 9/10.

Yeah, I bought it on impulse a couple of weeks ago and was mightily impressed. 10 tracks of mellowish techno, all very original and very good. Daves drumming past features quite prominantly in the way he just skips beats but still holds the tracks together and keeps it very tight. I wouldn't call it trip hop either (as someone else posted) but it wasn't as 'banging' as i thought it was going to be. Can anyone tell me anything at all about Dave Angel's music? I bought the Timeless 12" and I love it and am thinking of getting his new album Tales of the Unexpected. I know he's been around for a while but I've only seen a couple of records around.
