And what about this new GFQ (Gregory Fleckner Quintet) album on Clear? Jockey Slut just reviewed it in their latest issue, and it sounds *really* intriguing - sort of an experimental techno/jazz fusion thingie. Any word on a release date for this baby? - Matthew "I grew up thinking that techno music is actually something that you can't imagine. That is techno at its best. If you hear something that you'd never expect to hear - that's techno. If you hear something that kind of sounds like you've heard it before, then it's not techno." - Jeff Mills

Picked this up this weekend, at Fat Cat, just a 2x12 promo though. Have skipped through it and it's nice(ish). Saw artwork and that is nice too. ::: CLR 419 ::: Gregory Fleckner Quartet [Quintet?] ::: 2x12" ::: 10 Tracks, listing unknown. I was gonna try and review it all but have the time, but... Jazzy, very jazzy, jazzier than Red Snapper. Slow. Minimal. Lot'sa double bass. One track sounds like something from Twin Peaks. All a bit freaky. Not sure if it's everybodies cup of tea. Not sure if it's my cup of tea yet either to be honest. But I can see how Plaid could whip up some stormers from this base material. g3 g The WARP Web Site 3 0 3 http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~n264671/wap-indx.html
