On a sort of un-IDM-related tip, the kraftwerk mailing list(kraftwerk@cs.uwp.edu) have been arguing for days about mysterious backwards masking lyrics in Kraftwerk's 'The Robots' track from The Man Machine. If you have a vinyl copy of it, play the part where it sounds like a computerized voice speaking in Russian. When you do, it sounds like it's saying, "no one owns me, no one sells me", which IS in fact what it's saying. Thought that was a bit interesting... Derek Jordan

This sentence is a bit vague, but that's not at all what the Russian translates to. "Ja tvoj sluga, ja tvoj rabotnik" is "I'm your slave, I'm your worker." And people have a tendency to hear all sorts of things when they play records backward. C. -- cspot@hyperreal.com (Chris.Hilker) "I feel like I'm being electrocuted."
