TWITCH RECORDS... started by my ex-roomie and ex-IDM-lister Mike Wertheim several years ago. Mike is no longer involved with the label, and they are shifting their focus from DJ remix compilations to original sound productions. Mike & Jeff Taylor & yours truly released the first original track on Twitch way back when: "The Trip" by Ultraviolet Catastrophe. Anyway, the wheel has turned and the first Twitch compilation of original material is now available. it's called SAN FRANCISCO SOUND SPECTRUM volume 1. Right now it's only available on double 12", but there will be a CD soon. Here's the track listing with comments from yours truly... Astral Matrix - Chroma (straight ahead floor filling acid mayhem) Doom Selector - Broken Joint (downtempo hip hop weirdness) Odyssey Arcane - Transhumance (goth house???) Spirit Pie - Bring Your Body (house) Darin Marshall - 7th Hour (melodic techno/trance) Twitching Iris - Timebase 101 (hip hop acid) Bassbin Twins - SF2UK (electro acid) Bass Kittens - Disengage (hip hop acid from yours truly) jon sez czech it out. for more info, email me or jim@twitch.subterranean.com SINGLE CELL MIGUEL... That's right, Miguel Angelo Fierro aka Single Cell Orchestra is finally poised to grab the stardom and recognition he so richly deserves. His debut full-length CD and double vinyl is titled DEAD VENT 7 and is now available on Jonah (space time continuum) Sharpe's REFLECTIVE RECORDS (email: reflect@sirius.com). DV7 is a science-fiction story penned by Miguel and Michiel Katz. The dialogue was directed & recorded by Miguel, who then wrote an original soundtrack, so to speak, to complement it. And what a soundtrack... from booming space tones in the Namlook vein to what could only be described as "Kraftwerk does Jungle" through a whole gamut of outer space electro tracks. very original, very good. buy or die! -- Name: Jon Email: jsd@cyborganic.com Web: http://www.cyborganic.com/People/jsd
