The latest issue of Select magazine has a good interview with RDJ that covers everything from afx/rephlex history to asthma and facial hair. Nice pictures too, worth a look. :: Alan M. Parry :: fluid@hyperreal.com :: <finger me for PGP key> :: http://hyperreal.com/~fluid

There's a decent article on Richard James in the June/July issue of Raygun magazine (with bjork on cover). Interesting quotes: "I called it I care Because You Do as a joke. I got the idea from TV. All the adverts are about how much companies care about their customers but they really don't give a shit. And that's pretty much the same for me. Manufacturers make out that they care when all they want is money, It's the same for me. Im obsessed with making music, but if it was up to me I wouldn't me making any records at all. They only allow me to keep working." "I do so many tracks that when I release a record, it's a really small percentage of what I actually create. I haven't released even a quarter of the styles I do yet. It all started with record companies putting out some tracks 'cause they thought it sounded like techno and kids would buy it. But that's not what I do at all really. So when I have to do a new album, I have to pick some tracks to go on it." As for future projects, he says he hopes to be working on Stanley Kubrick's next film, "Artificial Intelligence." :: Alan M. For those in the US who don't know, the title is only very mildly derived from that used by Boots (enormous chain of promarily chemist/drugstore/photographic) - "We care, because you do" J ^

I just made a small mess. When I heard about Kubrick's AI project, years ago, I immediately thought, huh, deserves a nifty RDJ sound track... crossed fingers - will speak to warp wrt. greg The Official WARP Web Site 3 0 3 http://www.ncl.ac.uk/~n264671/wap-indx.html

i heard that kubrick scrapped it. it was on the shelf for years after 2001, then jurrasic park convinced kubrick that his film could be made, then his accountants convinced him that it couldn't. is this old hat or pure bollox or wot? jAmz =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= tHe WiG wItH tEeTh -- j.p.walsh@bradford.ac.uk -- http://www.brad.ac.uk/%7Ejpwalsh/jAmpAge.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
