[I'm sending this on behalf of Jon at Brainwashed - please don't write to me about it, there's contact info at the end.] ---------- Forwarded message ---------- So I started pressing records last year with some brainwashed stuff, but brainwashed recordings doesn't seem right to get new talent, and people have been asking if brainwashed recordings accepts demos. The answer is no. Brainwashed Recordings is just an extension of the fun of brainwashed.com and there will be no money, time, energy involved in promoting, producing, manufacturing nor paying -new- artists. BUT running a label like that which -did- for new artists has always been a dream. It's a new century (arguably) and it's time for a new label to add to the others that have been pushing for the evolution of electronic and experimental stuff. I'm looking for a sound however. If the names Panacea, v/vm, Kid 606, Lesser, Church of Extacy, Non, etc,... mean anything to you, and you want somebody to listen, by all means send something along. If your stuff is generic 4/4 thumpy fresh out-of-the-box pre-programmed keyboard drivel, don't even bother. Don't send anything with somebody singing, they will be trashed too. Vocal samples however are a different story. TURBO PIMP is now accepting submissions. PO Box 1231, E. Arlington, MA 02474 USA www.turbopimp.com enclose phone numbers, mailing address, email address with all submissions Disclaimers: We'll listen to everthing but will only respond if we like it, and will only return demos on request. Only send music on digital formats (DAT, MD, CD). Don't send "unfinished music" (my music would be better if I had [blank] equipment). And don't send your music if it sucks ass and you know it sucks. Naked pictures and cash don't help either. Direct all questions/feedback/inquiries to guido@killerpimp.com however. Thanks, jonwhitney TURBID.COM -- Greg Clow - greg@stainedproductions.com - http://www.stainedproductions.com feedback monitor - electronic & experimental radio/reviews/interviews http://www.stainedproductions.com/feedback/ 158 Close Ave. 2nd Floor - Toronto, Ontario M6K 2V5 - Canada --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org

I'm not quite sure what you're responding to in Jon's post. He has a good idea of what type of sound he wants, and perhaps he didn't articulate it so well, but so what? Is he really any worse than a "real" label exec? I live in Boston. Jon absolutely represents around here. He's released vinyl by relatively big-name hitters such as Coil. He has nothing invested in this other than love for the genre. And he's a nice chap to boot. If he wanted to broaden the scope of his reach into electronic music, I would fully endorse him.
