PC Soundcard/Sampler question

Hi friends, I have a question concerning a somewhat different facet of IDM than we usually discuss.. I'm in the market for a soundcard package, and would greatly appreciate some of you musicians and noise engineers telling me what kind of setup you use (IBM-PC based). I'm mainly looking for a soundcard that will allow me to sample, which most will, but I want to get the "industry standard" if there is such a thing. Maybe replies should go directly to me, since this isn't about labels and reviews.. or, maybe someone could simply point me to some information source about this sort of equipment. I can use an inexpensive MOD player to achieve a 'sequencer'-like effect with my WAV files, but am looking for a soundcard with the best wave-editor etc. Anyone with info on this, lemme hear from you. Thanks all, and respect. Brad 941shelton@merlin.nlu.edu
