while digging thru a pile of records in the radio/television production studio at my school i found in amongst the garbage a true treasure: 'clear/industrial lies' by cybotron (juan atkins). i had never heard cybotron before, so i snuck into the radio studio and tossed it on one of the turntables. smooth electro. and vocals too. is that juan singing? he ain't bad. :) i love finding stuff like this. i feel like an archaeologist sometimes. :) and since the guy who caught me in the studio couldn't understand my joyous delight (but he did let me stay and listen) and no one in this entire damn city would even know, i thought i'd at least tell someone else about it. :)

That's impressive that you were able to find one with industrial lies as a b-side.. most of the fantasy pressing are just two versions of clear..

This record was crucial in kick-starting techno.. Many of the Detroit musicians list it as their number 1.. They're quite a few of Juan's records along these lines, with "Cosmic Car" and "Welcome to techno city" being the absolute classics.. Jamie .., ........, .........., .........., ........, .., B.U.a.R.P.

Does this have that "Welcome to techno city" sample? (I apologise for the boring sample spotting question) || [CiM] || u9323899@sys.uea.ac.uk || http://www.sys.uea.ac.uk/~u9323899/
