Any and All: I'd like to know of any IDM-oriented magazines/newsletters that people might recommend subscribing to. The 'Orbit' section of Melody Maker just is not cutting it. 'Future Music' is okay but is more of a musical product dumpsite than an artist-oriented read. Anyone? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Steven W. 'Orbit' doesn't cut it for you? That's pretty much the best week-in-week-out coverage of underground electronic music you're going to get, IMHO. The only other suggestion I could give you would be to read The Jockey Slut, a really excellent techno mag out of England. It comes out bi-monthly, I think, and their address is: The Jockey Slut Unit 226 Ducie House 37 Ducie St. Manchester M1 2JW England The magazine is #1.75 per copy, #2.50 mail order within Britain, and I took a guess and just sent them #4.00 to send my copy of the January/February issue home to NYC. Hope this helps! - Matthew

So far, the most interesting and indeed, enthusiastic coverage I've found has been in L.A's Urb magazine. Totally cool and they cover a range of style ('cause IDM doesn't only mean electronic.) Other 'zines I've found interesting are ID and Mixmag, when they're on point. For a US look at techno dance culture, (though I'm not sure they're still around, check out Trip out of Tampa, phone: (813) 238-0310. But for a weekly check-up on IDM...look, nothing's that interesting. Reynold (Peace and get wild - +-0->)
