From Robert Smith>>> <<BEGIN QUOTE FROM Jon Drukman: <<: <<: i never said all minimal was bad, just mr hawtin's minimal... <<: << <<Sounds more like you just have some problem with Richie, not his music. <<How can you categorically eliminate everything by one performer? << <<Jealousy or something? This seems odd to me. If Jon has heard all of Richie's stuff, which I'm sure he has, then what's the problem with categorically eliminating all of it? He doesn't like it. He also said that he is not opposed to all minimalism, just Richie's brand of it. How the hell does that make him jealous? I happen to dislike all of the Cosmic Baby I've heard. Does that make me jealous of them? Dave P.S. Robert, "Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me" was your last good album. I think you guys lost it with "Disintegration" and beyond.

Hmmm... It's really cool to see the opinions of everyone...both GOOD and BAD, but... all this shit about jealousy etc.. is a bunch of bullshit... Let's let everyone have their say and be done with it. Too each his own. I'm not really fond of any Cosmic Baby stuff either, and this doesn't mean he's any less of a musician or anything... and it doesn't mean I'm jealous of him either! Thanks all the comments! R.Hawtin

Well, I'll throw in my $0.02 on the whole thing. I've got both _Musik_ and _Recycled Plastik_, and, while I won't say they changed my life, they're both good records - as long as I'm in the mood for 303 noodling (_Musik_, in particular). But Ashok wished us all a stompin' 1995, and that got me to thinking: The one thing I really wish would have come out more on those two Plastikman releases was a good swift kick to my head, ass, feet, whatever - some good bass thump would be nice once and a while. :-) Nice to see you online, Richie!
