Something for the Aphex FAQ file...
In case anyone's interested, I'm about 99% sure that the
distorted/processed voice in track 5 of the Analogue Bubblebath 4 is that
of Evel Knievel, a legendary American loony who spent most of the 1970's
jumping over/off things on motorcycles (clue -- the voice is talking about
the two skycycles he owns, the third being "at the bottom of the Snake
River Canyon" -- which corresponds to a spectacular failed stunt Knievel
pulled in the mid 70's)
Anyway, he did a speaking tour earlier this year, with Beck (?!) as his
opening act, so that's probably where the speech came from.
Now I'm off to write a thousand times:
"I promise not to trainspot
I promise not to trainspot
I promise..."
