I picked this up recently as well. I dont know if it is the most boring ambient album I have ever heard though. I found it to be much better than The Irresistible Force's 'flying high' as far as texture is concerned. It did have a few canned sounds...and a couple of samples that sounded like AA/FSoL...but some of the sounds were quite unique...such as that one on caterpillar to butterfly...the smacking reverbed sound...though that track did not build to what i had hoped it would. i thought it kind of slacked off toward the end...as did many of the tracks...i also thought that the tracks were remarkably short for ambient music...especially since it was on instinct ambient. I would put omicron in my personal top 20 but it would come in around 20 - 15...not the top of the heap but definitely less boring than watching grass grow, paint dry, or flies fuck (to steal a line from george carlin) jasonosaj
