Laika are fairly close to the IDM style (whatever that is?) - they have just released one EP, which is pretty heavily percussion- oriented, marimbas, bongos, and a lovely flute. Plus, as Kelli-Jeane says, half-whispered jazzy female vocals. The remainder of Moonshake have just made an album in the Tom Waits / Beefheart / Fall mode, which is about as far from IDM as you can get (but still pretty good). -- Andrew Norman, Leicester, England | Jedermann sein eigner Fussball nja@le.ac.uk |
