i, too, get really turned off by certain dance tunes with lyrics/human
elements.
for example, i can never maintain my trance when those damned sex utterances
start seeping out of the speakers. they're usually some female groans of some
faked exstasy, and i think that they're really sexist and inappropriate.
they're obviously aimed at the male audience, and i'm always embarrassed as i
look around and see women who just sort of gamely go along and dance with it,
already knowing that they're enveloped in a phallocentric world.
it's a cheap 'artistic' expression, and i don't respect dj's who play it.
just my two cents...
