i think that there is a difference between being genuinely down to
earth and being pleasant. sure they WANT you to appreciate them but on an
individual level they may not give you the time of day. it's not even a question
of gushing and what not, i can see how that could be annoying...
i was just surprised at how down to earth some of the people who make
this music are. i find it kind of interesting in that most of the musicians i
have met are so cool while some of the DJs i have met (most, actually) are
kind of assholes. the most interesting paradox is that the DJs who are basically
unknowns, locals, tend to have more attitude than even the biggest name DJs.
i can't figure it out.
