here in NYC the best place i know of is 'etherea records'. friendly
and knowledgeable staff, and they make sales by letting ppl listen in
headphones, or playing stuff open in the store that just happens to be
fucking great.
that stuff is certainly stocked at the store 'other music', but it's
harder to access, and their aesthetic is more eclectic overall.
