this is my first posting, so please excuse me for getting a couple of these "not still warm" releases out of my system.... autechre>>the big 5>>the big one baby>>what color is your sleeve>>mine plays inside out on the third cd player i bought on the fifth wednesday of my anniversary>>the sleeve is just so dope__ not to mention the music....oh, yeah - the music...[LOSERS!!!}1.dope 2.psycho stereo..hard>twinkly new sound>seriously fun stuff-seriously under control 3.sweet! each bar is a blooming flower remaining FUNKY as fuck..beautiful! 4.loss of words..some say not long enough- i say PERFECT 5.formulated at first- i see a pattern forming in the whole album-----wait- oh shit...6.the first time i heard fold4.wrap5 it fucked me up. the moving room became understood...like the way the hour hand always eventually reaches the top....with midevil crispy melodics .behind,,,, 7.fucking wicked>>is it washable? 8....just plain and simple ae. spacious and lovely...mature and funky...man in love with the world around him....9.the name seems to fit it well 10. haunting...fucking Awesome..my favorite by far....11. the most original track on the album...organic yet alien...the horns are calling the king and queen...forgetfull in the drama, hints of effects remind us it's either the year 1800 or now [no pretending-cryptic clueless ones]...the delays become SWING. will there be a "BOUNCING BALL" effect pedal in the works?...the cd has the illusion of morphing from, say, PART 1 to PART 2 at some point-i'm not sure when....at first listen, i was impressed- but not blown away---but given time to explore, i'm quite satisfied - even with all the fucking hype..... i'm getting tired....so much for multiple first reviews....however, i also picked up Hildegard Westerkamp's "transformations".(don't know what label...anyone know about her?)..it's definitely an "art" album...[take that as you will]... 5 tracks,,,,,one with the artist telling the listener what she's doing exactly with the effects as you hear them change....for instance>>> listening to the 'droning' of recorded earthly delights, such as sea washes and bugs...she creates a certain atmosphere and when it is going to change to something more'urban'[like the sound of cars and the general "CITY" she let's us all know... and then descibes how equilizers are just as important as the earth itself,,,,,her voice isn't as much of a distraction as you first thought it would be.....damn the hidden track on ae5 got me again.....JON
