The Man From Pack
(Interdimensional Transmissions/US)
Blazing right behind his immensely popular and infectious "Space Invaders
Are Smoking Grass" remix 12", electronix Dutchmaster Inter-Ference pulls
his monster V8 of a full length out into the passing lane of Detroit's
Interdimensional Transmission highway and tears up a little electronica
tarmac with a release which is certain to more fully grab the attention of
the electronic dance music Highway Patrol. Each track on "The Man From
Pack", arrives acutely minimal, yet packing a electro-goodfella's
trunk-full of character. Uncluttered collections of cracking drum sounds,
pensive pulsewidths and rolling syncopated basslines speak with the
distinctive diction of this master at work. Noted more succinctly are such
cross cultural influences as the vocodered charms of Italio Disco, the
distinct analog midranges of a John Carpenter's soundtrack visions, and a
New Wave aesthetic which is laid down with such earnest and genuine
simplicity, it makes recent submissions of contemporaries Dopplereffect
sound, dare I say pretentious? Another driving submission from Ferenc,
certain to roll the odometer through the years. (Teep)
