an artist i've really been getting into lately is 'hecq' aka benny boysen. i'd never heard of him before until lusine picked out 'scatterheart' (on hymen) as a fave release in 2004. and there are similarities in the sound although it's a lot more than just that (although 'field' is gorgeous); tight and focused in some places, cinematic in others, noisy too as the tracks are linked together.
i'd also recommend the follow-up 'bad karma'; what strikes you about both albums is that they're bursting with ideas, top stuff.
