quoted 5 lines I've finally decided to have a go at Venetian Snares' music, but am>I've finally decided to have a go at Venetian Snares' music, but am >slightly intimidated by >the volume of stuff that he's got out there... is there any consensus on a >good (ie fairly >representative, fairly good) place to start?
hard to say what's really representative... personally, I think Huge Chrome Cylinder Box might be a good place to start if you're coming at things from a strictly synthesized angle... Doll Doll Doll if you're more moved by jazzier bits... and Rossz... if you're into rebuilt rhapsodies... Stupid Chocolate Wheelchair is a smart bet, too... as it has a fair amount of variety... kicks off with a medley of X-Ray Spex and the Coronation Street theme... and reworks Motley Crue's Too Young To Fall In Love later on... also features a Dr. Who flavoured nod to Abelcain (Marty's Tardis) and a track which features samples from all the original Lovebug films. Of course - there's always the first cd... pritf('shiver in eternal darkness') - but I don't know how available that one is anymore... --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
