i cannot agree with this any more. Amber is totally fucking pop. of course if you're on this list you realize that saying that "amber is pop" or "plaid is pop" doesn't mean the shit sounds like Top 40 Radio trash. the music is catchy, easy to listen to, and very soft on the ears. it's accessable way beyond something like confield will ever be, even in idm.

i absolutely loved Confield, and for the record loved the live show in Oakland. i understand that they didn't play amber or incubula or the garbage ep, but i didn't go to see them play a set straight off their releases. i went to hear autechre, which usually means realy challenging idm, which is almost always brilliant. but then again, i love confield, ep7, and everything else that many people wrote off as being really bad.

no, that's what Merzbow is for.

i did, i find that every autechre release is amazing in it's own way, and i love the direction they've gone. it would be sad if they put out ten releases that sounded like Amber. they evolved, and hoped that their fanbase would move with them, some did, some didn't. if autechre have dissappeared up their own asses, as some people say, i want a recording of their colonoscopy. -kiya --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
