OoooOOOooohhh!!!
Almost equally controversial!
Surely, isn't being "hidden behind mountains of equipment" an image in its own right? Do you think any less of an IDM artist if they don't have mountains of equipment ...or at least are hunched over the very latest Mac laptop?!?
;o)
Heh heh! If you say things like that, I *will* bait you! :-D
My bet is that such people are either hideous anatomical freaks or in possession of a severe shyness!!! I should know - I'm both and thus am slowly building my own "mountain of gear"! :o)
Now lighten up already ...or pick up a Lisa Simpson gold disc!
:-D

Isn't IDM pretentious enough as it is? I think the last thing we should do
is encourage these artists to try and become celebrities. One of the main
reasons I got interested in this vague and wide ranging genre is the fact
that most artists are faceless. It's about the music. I could care less
what any of these artists look like. If I see them perform live, I expect
them to be hidden behind mountains of equipment.
If you care about 'image' I suggest picking up a Jessica Simpson disc.
