I had that /\\09 topdown tape but neglected to check back in later. Having
rectified that: the two LPs are sounding great and v much unconventional
dub techno.
i would call that Cevin Key stuff "dub" more than "dub techno" purely bc
it's cribbing directly from Tubby Scientist Scratch et al more than anybody
from Europe.
Pole has always felt like his own whole thing to me.. the 123R classic
records at least have so much in common with Rhythm & Sound and yet... all
the Techno has been excised and it makes for such a different listening
experience. I must say "2" remains one of those handful of records that I
cannot seem to wear out no matter how much I play it. Every summer, as soon
as Baltimore gets dumb hot, I must play 2 loud from a car.
All that said, the Pole album that came out last year is actually the most
Techno thing I think he's done and it rules.
Going to go check out Hoavi rn I don't think I've ever heard it.
