First of all, thanks for the input to all who responded. For those who are interested in submitting music for us to play, please, send your stuff. Address is as follows: Dan Crall- The Sound Experiment 2200 N. Oakwood Ave. #1B Muncie, IN 47303 USA As noted earlier, the Sound Experiment airs on an Indiana Public Radio Station that is an affiliate/member of National Public Radio. You can listen online, Sunday nights at 12:00 AM est by visiting www.bsu.edu/ipr. The sound quality is compromised over the net, but we're working on improving that. As for the tips regarding the use of google to find info about artists, that's my typical M.O. However, no matter how creative I get with the search words, some artists just don't have much info available. I had particular trouble with an artist called anti-priest -- I don't know how Dan (the show's creator) gets some of his music, but damn, some of it is OBSCURE. But that's a big part of the reason the show is so refreshing. We're way into playing things that you'd be hard pressed to hear elsewhere. We're lucky that IPR here at Ball State has given us this opportunity at all -- this branch of NPR, being in the midwest and all, is tradtionally rather conservative. So now we're just hoping to build a listenership, continue to improve the show, and hopefully, eventually get picked up by some other NPR stations. Write to IPR to tell them you're listening and you appreciate what the Sound Experiment is trying to do. Every little bit helps. Go here: http://www.bsu.edu/web/ipr/contactus/contactuspage.html and click on the "programming" link. Sorry to so shamelessly self-promote, but this is very much a labor of love. Dan and I are doing it for nothing more than the satisfaction of doing it. Hopefully the demand for the show will slowly grow, but for now, we're doing it grassroots style. In other news, I found Talkie Walkie used today at the campus CD shop here in Muncie. 9 bucks. Haven't listened to it yet, but it can't be any worse than 10,000 Hz Legend. --cheers, Matt __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
