Amon Tobin played a DJ/Laptop set here last night in Auckland, New
Zealand. The first time he's been here in about 6 years, and the first
time I've managed to see him play.
I wasn't really sure what to expect, but wasn't getting my hopes up too
much. I think I've read some average reviews on here before. As it
turns out I was very pleasantly surprised. A lot faster and harder than
I was expecting. Moreso than on his albums with the exception of a
couple of tracks. He played quite a bit from the last 3 albums, and
lots of stuff I didn't recognise... Lots of mental breakbeats and Drum
and Bass.
Absolutely rocked the place :D
Also... monolake is playing this Monday night... what can I expect?
Should I be prepared to chill, or to shake my ass?
