Why do I keep fooling myself into thinking electronic music is going to translate into a good live show? I like all the artists on the Morr tour and yet I was bored and sleepy through every set. It would have been nice if they had some cool visuals b/c looking at a guy pushing buttons on his laptop and mc-505 just doesn't rock me like a hurricane anymore. the 80's cover song was a Slowdive song off of the Blue Skied n' Clear comp which I think is the best Morr release. The only straight-up button pusher electronic act I've seen that really kicked butt was Pole. In a message dated 11/17/03 9:33:01 AM, chthonic@chthonicstreams.com writes: << thanks for whoever recommended ms. john soda live. i went to see them last night. the instrumentation was a good, idiosyncratic mix - laptop, live drums, hohner clavinet through fx, two bass guitars and sometimes a little keyboard. and of course stefanie's vocals, sometimes sweet little girl and sometimes like a railing kim gordon/kim deal hybrid. for their encore they did an 80's cover song they'd done with b. fleischmann. anyone know what that is and where to find it? i couldn't understand her through most of the show. d. >> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
