Thank-you all who attended our past Sunday night parties in celebration of the musical contributions of the D'. As many of you know, we've been going strong through the summer with some truely great sets by our host and guest DJs. Since our start last May, we've honed our signature mix of funk, techno, hip hop, electro, garage rock, Motown, ghettotech and more to give all of our guests that tingly soul-infused feeling head-to-toe.
This Sunday, we are graced by the timely return of maestro spinna Domingo Yu AKA DJ Chino. Domingo has spent years DJing in and around Detroit at several residencies, DJ battles, and underground cabarets. He has represented the Detroit Techno and hip hop sound around the US and the world from Taiwan and Austrailia to the UK and Spain. And he has shared the stage with such well known Detroit artists as techno legends Derrick May and Alan Oldham AKA DJ T-1000, hip hoppers Eminem, Royce the Five Nine, Cha Cha, Defari, Xzibit, reggae act Poison Dart and numerous spoken word performers, including Jessica Care Moore and the Last Poets and served as the longtime DJ for ledgenary midwest breakdancing crew K.H.A.O.S. Detroit is free, and starts at 9 every Sunday night at the Skylark, 3089 16st., San Francisco. Resident DJs are Baby Daddy (Rob Goppold) and DJ 12 Mile (Brian Stein).
