Adam Johnson is the latest bad ass of trad idm, never differing from the classic styles pioneered by early Autechere and Aphex Twin, but adding a higher value of production to the lo-phi sound of that era and taking a hint from tech-ier folks with the slight funk of his stringy but never liminal bass lines. Miles Tilman is a former local boy who's returning to teach Orlando about the wonders of moog pop, never to intellectual in his leanings Miles' has moved to the laptop and since then been piecing together all the ambient phrases of your favorite songs into intelligent drum work. Machine Drum... what can be really said about Machine Drum? Electronified hip-hop as m3rck puts it and recent opener for Funkstorung, Drum takes his recent work and runs a little guitar around the edges. Also Gestalt (which is Cory Gilbert, Jeff Johnson, and T. Stewart) will be pioneering their new post-rock sound and Park Ave Cds' finest clerk DJ Queso will be beating up the decks between sets.
