Just got the 2x12" on Zod in the mail yesterday. This has been the first thing to really knock my socks off in well over a year. Fast paced, very computery sounding, solid beats the whole way, not abrasive or too glitchy, but perhaps slightly on the aggressive side. Reminds me a little of Mike Paradinas' stronger, harder moments. A step or 2 harder than Brothomstates' Claro, and not quite as melodic. Sorta like Lexaunculpt on amphetamines. I wasn't familiar really with any of the remixers outside of recognizing the names of Emotional Joystick, Duplo Remote and Curtis Chip. Others include Digiotaku, Taisuke Matsuo, Mishima Ongaku, Robo*com, Yogo.onomotobok, and many others. Recommended if you like: Aphex Twin, Hrvatski, Gescom, A Shocking Hobby, Otto v Schirach, Proem's first cd, Kid 606, Electric Company... For all those who stated on this list that you favorite Aphex release is either Richard D James or I care because..., you'll be eating this one up. If any of this sounds up your alley, do what you must to find these records. www.zodrecords.com
