I saw some post of people discussing books...first I was very surprised as I
figured many would subscribe to the Aphex/606 "I don't read'" type mentality
(not dissing non readers here I'm just saying)with that said.....
Anyone on this list who hasn't read any of the "ware" series by Rudy Rucker
(Software, Wetware, Freeware, Realware) should get on it...He's a
mathematician in Kentucky (i beleive) and writes about robots and the
future...many of his theories of the future have inspired me in programming
writing tracks as it presented me with not only mathematical Ideas I don't
yet completely understand (i.e. artificial inteligence and other dimensions)
but written words let my mind cook up a new aesthetic I can express in
digital art...this is actually the same reason I like reading music reviews
as compared to hearing an album...the ideas in my head always vary greatly
from the tracks I hear.....
