Hi, I don't remember this book/CD getting mentioned on these lists but if it has been, my apologies. Yesterday I picked up a book put together by someone called the @mbassadors and it features a fair amount of artwork by the young British artists' school. Graphically, it's really engaging and makes a great coffee table book. What makes it more interesting to these lists is the CD that comes packaged in the cover with collaborations between some of the visual artists and music artists. Of particular note to these lists, I'd point out the Brian Eno, Marc Quinn collaboration and the track by Rufus Knightwebb and Derrick May. May and Knightwebb also contribute a collaborative photo entry in the book as well of a Detroit fire engine spraying water on a blaze that looks like its at Belle Isle. All in all, I reckon there is enough little interesting things in the images and sounds to appeal to a large chunk of you out there. The book came out in 1998 and I found it at a bargain-blow-out bookstore for $20 US, well worth it I'd say, and as those blow-out book places tend to buy from one central distributor, I'd say there's a pretty good chance there's a bunch of these floating around America's bargain shelves. Online, I could only find it at Amazon UK for 24 pounds: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1861540884/qid=1022688520/sr=1- 3/ref=sr_1_0_3/026-0312458-5798063 Here's the track listing in its entirety: 01.- Useless Man: Minty, mixed by The Grid 02.- Mantra of the Broken Powers: Barry Flanagan & Hugh Cornwell 03.- You're My Favourite Pop Star: Jessica Voorsanger & Dumb Angel 04.- The Mysterious Mister Bickerton: Ashley Bickerton & Gray 05.- Burning Up: Tracey Emin & Boy George 06.- Crash: Towering Inferno 07.- Bloodlines: Gilbert & George & Stefan Girardet 08.- I Want to be Erected: Macrohard 09.- Sensual Zero Gravity: Marc Quinn & Brian Eno 10.- No. 2: Zero Gravity 11.- The Fullness that Fills up the Pulse of Durations if Full: Chris Ofili & Add N to X 12.- Silent Revolution: Rufus Knightwebb & Derrick May 13.- Je t'aime...moi non plus: Sam Taylor-Wood (produced by The Pet Shop Boys) 14.- Sometimes (Hey Now, Hey Now): Duggie Fields (produced by Arthur Baker) 15.- DIgital Rim Smear Discharge: Solar Anus Jake Chapman & Russell Haswell 16.- Hypnotic Suggestion: Jane & Louise Wilson & MI7 17.- All About Love: Georgina Starr 18.- My Way: Gavin Turk, mixed by the Dub Pistols If anyone has information on the @mbassadors and the history on how this project came about, I'd love to see it. Thanks! Leslie Rollins
