Even though I am a big fan of hard and minimal techno, I can also agree with this statement as well. Putting in something by Pacou while you try to study or go about normal business typically doesn't work too well because it does sound like crap in these settings. I was never a big fan of minimal techno until I visted a friend of mine in Berlin and actually went to the "cellar" as the Tresor is sometimes known as. My mind was changed immediately. The energy and sheer amplitude of all the booming 909 kicks set against arranged noise without any melody was just amazing; this experience was without *any* conscious-altering drug. Now, I can't get enough of music by Pacou, H.E.I.M. Elektronik, Andrew Kowalski, and many other East German techno artists. Like a lot of other music, it's subjective enjoyment or quality is usually dependent upon the context in which it is experienced. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
