actually, first i should correct myself - spelled the last name wrong (it's MacLeod) He's Scottish and has written four books in a loose series of "future history" type stuff, centering around humanity going into space, and involving artificial intelligence and related philosophical tangles - but the big draw is how he laces everything with socio-political dialog. Communism, anarchy, capitalism, utopian thoughts, how technology will effect them. *real* politics in sci-fi is a rare thing. There's an article he wrote here: http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/iplus/nonfiction/kensf.htm And an interview with him here: http://www.webart.hr/nrnm/eng/intvu/kmint.html interesting reads .adam --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
