when 'red hot car' came out i heard all sorts of djs were tossing it into
their 2step or 'nu-breaks' sets. typically it mixed easily, and got more
people moving than most of the other tracks in their sets. first time i
heard it i had no idea it was squarepusher...so yeah, i'd say it qualifies
as 2step...
somewhat related, listening to 'go plastic', a good number of the tracks
on it use some of the same samples as speed garage did/does. that's part
of the reason i like it so much. heh. the 2nd or 3rd track lifts a huge
part of the vocal lick that double99 used in 'ripgroove' and smushes it up
into something nice and squarepushery...
