Yes, it is digital degredation but no, I don't think you'd like the
sound. Correct me if I'm wrong but people started getting bored
with the straight DSP with nothing else sound about a year ago.
I understand the concept of this release and I think it's really cool
each artist included descriptions of how they created this music
but really, the sound is aweful and once you step past the novelty
of a cool idea I doubt you could actually listen to it more than once
or twice. It's really just noise - really, and not like the noise people
describe IDM as being. Real noise like uncomfortable screeching
noise. Maybe others are into this type of expirementation and maybe
I'll get flamed by the purists for my opinion here but I was very surprised
to see so many established artists gathered together for a compilation of
music that is unplayable and unenjoyable. I would much rather sees these
artists get together for something like the n5MD compilations which are
great.
