Maybe you were just joking, but....

Excuse me? Could you take half a second to unpack one of the most blatant and outdated stereotypes still circulating? Women are rarely parasitic consumers attached to men with money. This is particularly ridiculous at a time when (American) women are present in the workforce, earning wages (though getting paid isn't the only signifier of labor, since house*work* is just that) , and supporting themselves more than ever before.
quoted 2 lines so while men are comparing their collections...women are still just> so while men are comparing their collections...women are still just > comparing their men..
Do you get all your information about women by reading Cosmo? You seem to imply that women have nothing better to do than think about men... that they don't engage in any meaningful work or pasttimes (other than consuming, of course). Ah, and women "still" do this... as if they are more resistant to change than your average, dynamic man? Please. I'm not going to purport to speak for all of 'womankind', nor even all American women, but I think it's fair to say that in many (if not most) cases, your opinions are offensive and bunk. -Ariana --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
