You would be hard pressed to get any definitive information about the Basic Channel/M/Chain Reaction/Burial Mix/Rhythm & Sound collective. The best source for info would be the 1995-96 Basic Channel interview in The Wire magazine. They prefer to keep it low-key. As far as i know there is no official site either. If you type in http://www.basicchannel.com it just brings you to the Hardwax store which is the axis for them. Speaking of which, the new Burial Mix 10", Jah Rule, is fabulous. But I do want to caution on the new Love Joys lp on the basic-channel- related Wackies label. I bought it based on the basic channel link (their ep with Rhythm & Sound was flawless) but was very disappointed to hear straight up poppy reggae with female vocals - no basic channel sounds to be found. btw: If anybody NEEDS to read the Wire interview I can make a PDF of it and make it available for download over the weekend - that is if it isnt already available somewhere else. Please reply privately if interested. -->-Lance---- PO Box 450715 Westlake, OH 44145 United States --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
