Yes -- humor used to be quite common, and I enjoyed it (still do, when it's around (hi wells!)) Now, every list newbie has a frog up their ass and feels they have to croak about, instead of just, uhh, not responding? If someone posts obviously false information, then correct them. If someone posts an opinion that differs from yours, deal with it. If it's NOT about idm, don't respond to the IDM list. The I in IDM stands figuratively for "intelligent." It meant that you had to have some sort of brain cells in order to find the stupid records, and a couple more to enjoy them. You need at least a few more to be able to discuss them. That means that the *majority* of people here know that opinions differ and are probably clued in to most sides of the story. If someone asks "Does anyone here like [popular IDM artist]?" there will be some people who like said artist, and others who don't like them. Both with valid reasons. I would assume that the majority of people on the list like IDM, unless they're like those weirdos that "hate the US but live in it." OK? We all like IDM. This is the IDM list. What should we do here? ------------ I have the Kettel CD, and, although it's nice, I think I enjoyed some of the mp3's more. Perhaps because they weren't associated with other songs, or because Mr. Kettel felt they were strong enough to stand on their own. If you've never heard of Kettel, I'd recommend the CD as some nice summery music with very nice melodies, but if you're strapped for cash and just want one or two of his really good songs, try to hunt down some of the non-CD mp3's. How is that Fennezszssz CD that was being talked about, summer something..? I have Oval's "Systemich," which is beautiful in parts (and currently missing!), and enjoy relatively sparse-yet-beautiful music in general... would I like much fennesz? thanks, derek ------- eggytoast.com ------- coming to a cineplex near you --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
