p.s. he's right, the MASK series kinda sucks

huh? wow. that's another good thing about mp3; you
can find the tracks and listen for yourself to see
what you think.
IMO, the mask series is really good. the boards of
canada track on 200 is one of my all-time favorite
tracks (and seems to be a floor filler at parties
too), as is the gescom on 500 (or whoever did the
boogie down bronx cover)--actually, 500 is one of my
favorite records overall. the BOC track on there has
really grown on me although at first i thought it was
too dark for my tastes. and as cheesy as it is, the
midas touch track is nevertheless really beautiful,
IMO.
the freeform track on 100 is brilliant too. the rest
of the record i could do without... but that freeform
track... gotta have it. i mean, you can not like
whatever you want to not like, but everyone should
check these things out for themselves. the series is
a very "important" one in terms of influence and
popularity, and worth seeking out, even if only to
learn that you don't like it, and even if you only
here a (shitty quality) mp3. i can send a sampler to
anyone who really needs to check out some of these
tracks.
btw, i still haven't heard mask300 (only one i don't
have), i really need to one of these days--ironically,
i've slacked because i've heard it's not that good.
of the ones i've checked out, the only 12" i could
give up is mask400. but then, i'll probably go back
and listen to it some day and like it more.
btw, can somebody tell me where the vocals came from
for that mask200 BOC track? always wondered.
