Most recent album to blow my mind would be Susumu Yokota's Grinning Cat.
Can't talk this one up enough. The man makes the most engaging ambient,
it's amazing. I've never really liked ambient before, and who knows - maybe
this doesn't qualify or something. But it's just so good!
Precious piano loops in the beginning, sad sax on Tears Of A Poet,
frightening flute on Fearful Dream - this is easily in my top ten for the
year.
