I've heard similar comments from a lot of people about electronic music when
I play something weird at them. It makes me wonder how much influence video
games sound tracks have had on techno. I remember listening/watching
Commodore 64 demos in the late 80s which were pretty trancey, and I'm really
sorry I wasn't more clued in at that time. Video game music has always been
a big thing for me, I can still hum themes from favorite old arcade games
and of course the sound effects are a big inspiration. My favorite music
(admittedly cheesy) is the theme from 'Super Locomotive', though 'Battle
Zone' had a cool minimal charm. So, I guess I'm asking what's the IDM-est
videogame sountrack (ducks for cover).
