Well, that's OK too. I was into Autechre for a few years since I read an
interview with them, then someone said my sound experiements sounded kinda
Aphex Twin so I bought an Aphex Twin CD. Then I was reading Sound on Sound
and they had an interview with Guy Sigsworth, who does some work for
Madonna. He mentioned Oval, and I thought they sounded interesting, and then
a month later I saw an issue of Wire with Oval prominently mentioned on the
cover and realised that it was a magazine devoted to weird music (I had
always thought it was just for jazz aficionados or something). Discovering
that experimental/intelligent stuff had a much bigger listener base than I
had thought led to me turning up on this list (so now you can blame Madonna
if you don't like my posts).
