Huh -it might just be a matter of taste, I find arpeggios in general to be kind of flat. Not into trance or italo for this reason. I think something like "NYC" by Burial is extremely melodically rich - much more so than the leads melodic leads on Nightmarket and Loner. Loner is a great example of the Empty-Ass Trance Glory Feel I don't care for. I feel you about the vinyl noise thing but its part of the deal - it's music that makes no bones about fetishizing the past.
