I can see that enrolling myself on this list again is more pain than it's
worth. The faulty assumptions on a garden variety of topics and far-flung
mind reading are really laughable. Oh wait, this is the internet. Take
for instance our friend that flew up to NYC for the Autechre show...
hmm... Well, it's not a label's job to make sure that there are t-shirts
to sell. The group's designs came late from Europe. With that said,
there's going to be merch starting in Chicago, so you can fly on up there
if you'd like... or there's always Warpmart.
I'm also sorry that we weren't down there in force handing out free copies
of the new album to appease you, let alone selected back catalog,
postcards for shows that don't yet exist and YOU CAN'T HAND OUT STICKERS
AT CLUBS IN NYC WITHOUT PISSING OFF THE OWNERS. That is unless you'd
rather Warp artists not be welcome here. We did put some very nice
posters up before the show both nights, but unless you were one of the
first ten people there each night (and two of you have had to have been
women, since I put a couple up in the ladies' room).
As far as your inability to recognize the songs because you didn't have
"Confield." already, well that's our fault. We decided to make sure the
packaging was right for the US, instead of faulty or incomplete. Artists
don't care about things like that. Nevermind the fact that they aren't
really playing anything from then new album, so you wouldn't have
recognized anything you heard anyhow, most likely. Their entire UK tour
took place before the album came out over there as well. But, just so
some poor soul in the future won't have to suffer the gross injustice you
had to endure, next time we'll just cancel those dates leading up to the
release date.
sounds like a plan :-)
