There have been various rumours circulating around regarding B12. First of all, Clair (of Clear and deFocus fame) asked a long time ago if anyone was interested in seeing the B12 back catalogue repressed. I think a lot of people responded, but that hasn't amount to anything as of yet. I replied to Clair's e-mail (you can probably find it in an IDM archive somewhere). Second, the last time I was in contact with Clair she stated that there would be some new B12 material on deFocus at some point. I've been waiting with my tong under my belt for it to happen - to no avail. B12 have performed at the deFocus night on 25 June 2000 (just a DJ gig, though), see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/focusmusic/messagesearch?query=b12 for details. (Please don't mind my incessant demands for information on the possibly forthcoming B12 release on the label:). Of course these are just rumours (except that I've been a part of them and in direct contact with Clair and gotten some information that could be deemed as valid), yet I'm a bit flabbergasted by all this. B12 (amongst others) have always represented the earliest and most influential part of IDM history (both musically and list-wise). I have spent an arm and a leg to get hold of all their releases (I'm missing only two). I'd be rather disappointed if there was no follow-up to e.g. ``3EP''. They have a website at Obsolete, though nowadays it's really, really out of date (though there are mentions of B1215 and B1216, with confirmed tracks, even - to be released somewhere in mid 1996). Check it out at http://www.obsolete.com/b12/1st-frame.html . (Last update 25 July 1996.) I'm still hopeful, though.
